Job seeker and business services to be centralised – BusinessAsema services move to Uusikatu in September

On 2 September 2024, Business Oulu and BusinessAsema services will move to the Technopolis City Centre campus at Uusikatu 52, where the TE Office of North Ostrobothnia also operates.

BusinessAsema’s service counselling will start in the new premises already on Monday 26 August and will be available on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Remote counselling and telephone services will not be affected by the move.

In addition to BusinessOulu’s employment and business services, most of the services offered by partners will also be available. BusinessAsema is a one-stop shop for job seekers, entrepreneurs, immigrants and trainees, as well as for a variety of everyday needs, from finance to housing.

There is a clear demand for no-appointment low-threshold services. Key services such as advice on entrepreneurship, job search, training, housing, and finances will continue to be provided by BusinessOulu service desk, the Oulu Enterprise Agency, International House Oulu, and partners. The schedule of services continuing in September can be found at businessasema.com/services.

The Startup Station will start its third pre-incubator group in September, with the aim of accelerating the creation of new businesses. BusinessOulu coaching and events will continue uninterrupted. In addition to skills and business development coaching, special emphasis will be placed on events that bring together job seekers and companies in need of talent. BusinessOulu’s events calendar is available at events.businessoulu.com. The calendar also includes events organised by other actors in the field of employment or entrepreneurship.

BusinessAsema FabLab, a workspace for digital manufacturing, is being developed together with OSAO Vocational College. The aim is to be operational in early 2025.

The new BusinessAsema premises will host two events as part of the Entrepreneurship Week: the Startup Station Season Opening on Wednesday 4 September at 17:00–19:00 and BusinessAsema 2.0 on Friday 6 September at 8:30–10:15. BusinessAsema and its partners will also be present at the Welcome to Oulu festival in Mannerheim Park on Friday 6 September at 13:00–18:00.
