Job seek­er and busi­ness ser­vices to be cen­tralised – Business­Asema ser­vices move to Uusikatu in Sep­tem­ber

On 2 Sep­tem­ber 2024, Busi­ness Oulu and Business­Asema ser­vices will move to the Tech­nop­o­lis City Cen­tre cam­pus at Uusikatu 52, where the TE Office of North Ostro­both­nia also oper­ates.

Busi­nes­sAs­e­ma’s ser­vice coun­selling will start in the new premis­es already on Mon­day 26 August and will be avail­able on week­days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Remote coun­selling and tele­phone ser­vices will not be affect­ed by the move.

In addi­tion to Busi­nes­sOulu’s employ­ment and busi­ness ser­vices, most of the ser­vices offered by part­ners will also be avail­able. Business­Asema is a one-stop shop for job seek­ers, entre­pre­neurs, immi­grants and trainees, as well as for a vari­ety of every­day needs, from finance to hous­ing.

There is a clear demand for no-appoint­ment low-thresh­old ser­vices. Key ser­vices such as advice on entre­pre­neur­ship, job search, train­ing, hous­ing, and finances will con­tin­ue to be pro­vid­ed by Business­Oulu ser­vice desk, the Oulu Enter­prise Agency, Inter­na­tion­al House Oulu, and part­ners. The Start­up Sta­tion will start its third pre-incu­ba­tor group in Sep­tem­ber, with the aim of accel­er­at­ing the cre­ation of new busi­ness­es. Business­Oulu coach­ing and events will con­tin­ue unin­ter­rupt­ed. In addi­tion to skills and busi­ness devel­op­ment coach­ing, spe­cial empha­sis will be placed on events that bring togeth­er job seek­ers and com­pa­nies in need of tal­ent. Busi­nes­sOulu’s events cal­en­dar is avail­able at events.businessoulu.com. The cal­en­dar also includes events organ­ised by oth­er actors in the field of employ­ment or entre­pre­neur­ship.

Business­Asema FabLab, a work­space for dig­i­tal man­u­fac­tur­ing, is being devel­oped togeth­er with OSAO Voca­tion­al Col­lege. The aim is to be oper­a­tional in ear­ly 2025.

The new Business­Asema premis­es will host two events as part of the Entre­pre­neur­ship Week: the Start­up Sta­tion Sea­son Open­ing on Wednes­day 4 Sep­tem­ber at 17:00–19:00 and Business­Asema 2.0 on Fri­day 6 Sep­tem­ber at 8:30–10:15. Business­Asema and its part­ners will also be present at the Wel­come to Oulu fes­ti­val in Man­ner­heim Park on Fri­day 6 Sep­tem­ber at 13:00–18:00.
